Art, Culture and Language Department 
The Art, Culture and Languages Department came into existence after being carved out of the Education Department in the year 1999. It is the Administrative Department for the Department of Archives & Department of Archaeology, all Language Academies (Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Sindhi, Maithili Bhojpuri, Garhwali Kumaoni & Janusari), Sahitya Kala Parishad and Dr. G.G.L.S.Prachya Vidya Pratishthanam. Besides above, 15 new Language Academies have been registered under the Societies Act, however, the same are yet to be functional.
